Our journey began at home
Mama Ve'a's Kitchen started not as a business, but as a simple act of sharing the food our family loves to eat. My husband and kids are still my biggest food critics and tasters – if they love it, we know it’s ready to share. What we serve isn’t trendy food… it’s our home food.
Our kitchen came to life from family recipes passed down with love, a desire to keep our parents’ cooking legacy alive, sharing the flavours we grew up with, and seeing how happy our food makes people. We realised that the same dishes that filled our table with laughter could fill other families’ tables too. That’s when it became bigger than us.

More than food, it's our heart
What makes Mama Ve'a's Kitchen truly unique? First, it’s genuinely family-run. My husband and kids are involved, tasting everything. If they don’t love it, it doesn’t go out. What we sell is literally what we eat at home. Secondly, it’s legacy on a plate. We cook to honour our parents, carrying memories of how we were raised.
Culture and respect are everything to us. As Polynesians, food is never “just food.” It’s alofa (love), it’s hospitality, it’s serving people properly. You don’t give small portions when guests come over — you feed them well. That’s the mindset we keep. And finally, faith guides us. We truly believe our blessings come from God. We move with good intentions, stay humble, and let our work speak for itself.
Our most important cultural values are respect for elders and their recipes, serving generously, keeping our hearts pure, and staying grounded and thankful. Mama Ve’a’s Kitchen isn’t built on hype — it’s built on family, culture, faith, and real home-cooked flavours. When people taste our food and say it reminds them of home?
